The access door of the Mosquito is back on the aircraft

The Fairey Firefly model is on display.

Eric discovered a fine metal scale model of the Spitfire XIV once used as a transfer for bamrs advertising.

Another fine scale model by the late Raoul Dedonckers. Raoul cannot finish the model but now this masterpiece is nearing completion. Model completed 28/06/2008

Avions construit en Belgique par Jean-Pierre Decocq : The Renard R-17

Jean-Pierre Decocq published in the past articles about aircraft build in Belgium. Jean-Pierre is now a regular redactor with Hangar flying.  

Thanks to him and the Fonds National Alfred Renard (FNAR), the first of new serie of articles on "Les avions construits en Belgique" are now available here

Fantastic 1/48 metal model of the Spitifire XIV in colours of the Fighter school of Koksijde availlable from Aviation Megastore. This particular aircraft illustrated an advertising for the Bamrs, many years ago.

Here are some pictures of scale models p^reserved at the Museum. A Bleriot XI 1/10 scale model is currently restored to Georges Pradez to be modified in a Bleriot Olieslagers. The Second Bleriot is a Bleriot XI-2 restored in 2008 for the de caters exhibition The Bleriot XI is a flying 1/10th model light damaged during an exhibition. He is now ready for the event.

BAHL10 - Stampe and Renard SV4 Drawings


This CD-ROM contains 1527 scans of original Stampe & Renard SV4 drawings preserved by the Fonds National Alfred Renard (FNAR). Those drawings were scanned by Brussels Air Museum Foundation members (BAMF), between 2003 and 2004, for archival and preservation purpose. Here are a few loq quality examples. The drawing files are in tiff format to offer better resolution and a high quality reproduction of the original documents. They are named and indexed following the classification used by the Stampe & Renard. Note that most of the original information (Index, drawings) are in French. If you want to obtain a legal copy please contact the Brussels Air Museum Foundation on www.bamf.be

BAHL57 - JL Beghin - The Early years of the Museum


In December 2008, Jean-Luc Beghin visited the Museum from California. He came with a wonderful gift, 80 pictures he took in the early years of the Museum.

Here a few examples of theses pictures including Jean Booten, Tiger Moth, SV, the Storch or visits of prestigious persons.

From the Jean-Luc Beghin collection about the early years of the Museum,80 B/W & colour pictures. Scanned in 600 dpi. Processed and described using exifer & IPTC standard. Description viewable by using exifer. Images protected by visible and invisible watermark. . Pictures available in full quality on CD-ROM for study. Use the info box to read descriptions. BAHL 2008

Douglas A26 B Invader restoration

Pascal and Eric(s) working on the second engine

In 2005, the two engines of the Invader were laid down for restoration for static display. It means corrosion was cleaned and coats of protection were applied. But the engine was not maintained for fllight.From April, 21th, the team prepare to install back the first restored engine. Note the crane and energy supply unit are fromp 1940's vintage. On Apirl 28th, the engine and propeller are back mounted on the Invader More on
