Massive attack

The participation the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the tramway at Stockel was successful with an estimate of 2000 visitors on the 4 days. Amongst the peoples we meet a lot of personalities like relatives of Jan Olieslagers or Chevalier de Lamines. During the exhibition, we received a gift from Mrs We also gained a lot of experience and ideas for future projects thanks to the Museum and the Woluwé St Pierre city. You can still see the Bleriot wings near the A-26.

Thanks to Nicolas, some of us visited in the past the Medway Aircraft Preservation Society who recently restored the Fairey Battle L5343 for the RAF Museum. The various contacts leaded to the Bamrs receiving a copy of the restoration notes of the Battle, a very useful resources for the future restoration of our Battle.
Robert visited the Alverca Museum in Portugal and added some pictures to our collections of this magnificent Museum. We will publish these pictures soon.

Philippe Levecq, one of the founders of the Bamrs visited us. He will back soon to help us.

André Hiernaux is a Belgian living in Switzerland. During his visits to the Museum, he take pictures of the aircraft or objects displayed. Back home, he transform theses pictures in real pieces of art. We all know the aircraft in the prestigious decor of the Aviation hall. Thanks to André, for the first time, we can discover the aircraft out of their environment. We are happy and proud, André permitted us to share his works.

Me-262 Training Film (1944).

Me-262 Training Film (1944)

Luftwaffe Flight training film (1944).of the ME-262. - This is a pretty amazing find buried deep on Google's Video site. According to the description on the video: The original audio is long since gone. However, the replaced narration is that of Franz Steigler, who flew the plane and watched the film during the war. The film, which is 46 minutes, is an extraordinary piece of primary source material for understanding the revolutionary leap in technology that occurred at the end of World War II. I watched it transfixed on the amazing history found in this video. What unfolds below is really a demonstration of the fragility of the first jet fighter and its clear tendency to overheat. As you watch the film, I would recommend putting it in direct contrast to the P-51 training video from 1942 that was posted here several weeks ago. The cultural similarities and differences in training pilots makes for an amazing piece of history

De Caters exhibition at the Museum

15.10.2008 - 28.02.2009

In the magical setting of the Royal Museum of the Army, the exhibition shows how many authors have drawn inspiration from history and military techniques.  In visiting the exhibition, the public will go through all the collections of the Museum.  Visitors will discover original and amusing showcases of items of the collections and how they are reflected in the comic strips.  The two dimensions of the comic strip are thus juxtaposed to the real world.
