The summer is the season of the airshows. Vincent acquired a new digital Canon camera and we will find hereafter some of his pictures taken in La Ferté and Duxford.
Vincent, Eric, Nicolas and Michael visited the Medway preservation group in charge of restoring the Fairey Battle of the RAF Museum. It was a trip full of learning. The Battle is a big and complicated machine and although this aircraft was already restored some years ago by technicians of the Royal Air Force a new restoration was needed. The pictures show well the level of quality of this project performed by volunteers with a high level of professonalism.
You will also found the usual information about the progresses of our projects.
Last but not least in the link section, a link to a private collection of Sabena airhostesses uniforms.

Alverca Air Museum Portugal - Picture by Vincent Jacobs Alverca (Portugal) - Aug 15, 2008 The pictures taken at this museum gives a good example of a modern and public minded air museum. With relatively low ressources, the aircraft and artefacts are displayed at their best and the availlable space is used with creativity. Some pionneers replicas built with the help of the local aeronautical industry are also on display. This a real achievement for a small country with a great aviation heritage and an invitation to visit this country. |

Restored many years ago before to be displayed at the RAF Museum in Hendon, the Battle needed a new full in deep restoration.
