Search for Belgian helicopter wreck

Between November 21st and December 19th, 2010, Belgian Defence in collaboration with the Congolese Army, is setting up and expedition to search for the wreck of the Piasecki H-21 Workhorse FG- 378 helicopter which crashed with its Belgian crew in North Eastern Congo on June 27th 1965. The helicopter disappeared mysteriously near Stanleyville (now Kisangani) in a time of growing unrest. The (Belgian) crew composed of pilots Adj Robert Jacobs and Adj Frans Allaeys and technician Raymond Bardon is still reported as missing. The military base at Koksijde is still called "Basis Adjudant Vlieger Frans Allaeys" to honour one of the crew members.
